Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts

1160 Dickinson Street
Springfield, MA 01108
The Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts is the voice of the local Jewish community and for millions of Jews around the world. Through its Annual Campaign, the Federation raises funds to support vital educational and social service programs for people in need in western Massachusetts, in Israel, and throughout the world. It provides services for senior citizens, day care for children, relief to families in distress, food and medicine for impoverished Jews in the former Soviet Union, resettlement services for people immigrating to Israel, and Jewish education and culture for the western Massachusetts community. The Federation is committed to the core Jewish values of tzedakah (justice and charity), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and klal Yisrael (Jewish unity). Some highlights of our services include:

* The Jewish Endowment Foundation is the planned giving and endowment department of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts.

* The Anna P. Housen Israel Desk sponsors programs that provide learning opportunities about Israel, organizes Yom Ha'atzmaut celebrations, promotes travel opportunities to Israel, and more.

* Create a Jewish Legacy - The Jewish Federation and the Jewish Endowment Foundation of Western Massachusetts, along with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, have partnered with 20 local agencies to encourage legacy gifts that will sustain our Jewish community for future generations.

* The PJ Library - The Federation is a proud sponsor of The PJ Library, a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, which provides young families with children ages 6 months to 8 years a monthly gift of a free Jewish book or CD free of charge.

* Rachel's Table is a volunteer-based central food distribution service to help feed the hungry in Greater Springfield.

* Rekindle Shabbat is an experiential Jewish learning program that makes it easy for Jewish and interfaith households to celebrate Shabbat.

* Women's Philanthropy supports and advances the mission of the Federation and sponsors community-wide programs that are of particular interest to women.

* The Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts, offers young Jewish singles, couples and new area residents (ages 21 - 45) a broad range of social, educational and philanthropic opportunities as a means to enhance leadership development and commitment and connection to the Federation and the Jewish community.
