Jewish Women's Archive

The Jewish Women’s Archive (JWA) is committed to enriching the way we understand the past and ensuring a more inclusive future. Founded in 1995, JWA is the first and only organization dedicated to uncovering, chronicling, and transmitting the rich history of North American Jewish women, both celebrated and unheralded. Its copious collections, profiles and multimedia resources—along with its lively blog, Jewesses with Attitude—are all online at jwa.org. In addition, JWA trains educators and partners with institutions to change the conversation by creating a broader view of Jewish history. This year, over 1.2 million people—researchers, scholars, educators, students, and a growing global base of friends and supporters—turned to JWA to explore Jewish women’s bravery and legacies, to honor and learn from their lives, and to ignite their own capacity to change the world.
