Jewish environmental educator Cara Silverberg is the keynote speaker at a special erev Shavuot program. The topic of her presentation is "Sacred Ecology: Embodying a Jewish Environmental Ethic."

Jewish tradition provides a deep well of theological and practical guidelines for ecological living. In this program, Cara will guide us in learning about some of these foundations and ways that contemporary Jewish communities are upholding them in practice.

Cara Silverberg is an educator and speaker based in Western Massachusetts. She has been teaching and consulting in the field of Jewish environmental education for over 12 years throughout the area. She has developed curriculum for and presented at numerous institutions and conferences, including Smith College, UMass, the Boston Jewish Food Conference, Hazon, and the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center.
