The People's Beit Midrash: Northampton

April 22, 2018 | 06:00 PM - 08:30 PM

Upper Pioneer Valley
Congregation B'nai Israel
253 Prospect St
Northampton, MA 01060

We’ll be learning Talmud modeled on Chicago based SVARA’s method: "hardcore, queer, and radically inclusive."
All you need to know is your aleph beth!
We'll be learning together in a mixed level Beit Midrash where everyone's contribution is valued.
The program is a 6 week series and requires a commitment to be there for every session, because our learning each week builds on the prior session and because of the nature of learning in hevrutha, committed pairs.

Register by Tuesday, March 27, at

The series will be taught by Mimi Farb (she/her), a femme radical, Queer Torah student and teacher, who completed the Radical Educators Track at SVARA's Queer Talmud Camp 2017. Mimi has taught Torah to adults and children in a variety of settings and can't wait to bring her teacher R. Benay Lappe's methodology in a sustained study series to her beloved Western MA community!

Award winning adult and child Torah educator Amy Meltzer (she/her) is mentoring Mimi in the undertaking and management of this project and will be supporting us as a "Bet Midrash Fairy".
