In this two-session series, we will explore essential ideas of the Ba'al Shem Tov (Rabbi Yisroel ben Eliezer, 1698-1760): defining spiritual insights that might inform how we work with our own minds and hearts to participate joyously in a world awash with God's presence.

With appreciation for the particular time and place in which the Ba'al Shem Tov lived and taught, we will study texts attributed to him which continued to shape the development of the immensely successful Jewish revitalization movement known as Hasidism. The ultimate goal of this brief series is to inspire us with a deeper understanding and personal integration of this strand of our spiritual inheritance.
