The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community welcomes dramatist and director of local theater, Diane Steinbrink, who will focus on the life and works of Alfred Uhry, the southern Jewish playwright.

Uhry's unique southern background will be discussed just as Uhry had shared it with Diane. She will dramatize some monologues from his most significant plays, including "Driving Miss Daisy," "Last Night at Ballyhoo," and "Parade," which deals with the Leo Frank case and its impact on the Atlanta Jewish community

There will be an opportunity for questions and comments following the presentation.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
