Does history repeat itself? The Trump agenda and recent provocative actions by Russia, North Korea, and Iran are forcing a convesation about deterrence as a primary tenet of US foreign policy. As we experienced previously, this situation is within the context of a possible nuclear nightmare. After watching a short lecture by leading expert Dr. Allen Sens, PhD, of the University of British Columbia, we will examine some of the concepts and risks of deterrence. We will try to understand why some policies seem archaic, and some more relevant than they’ve been since the cold war. Presented by Hevreh member Steve Schreier.
